i don't believe anybody feels the way i do about you now

Hello people I'm gonna try to blog about OBS while it's still fresh in my mind LOL. The last year EOY holiday trips I next time then post.

By the way I think this post is gonna be damn long so don't read if you don't want to :)

Day 1
Lugged my super heavy bags to school hall to assemble. Elvin was still chionging his Physics Assignment and we were helping him LOL. Then went to my Armstrong group :) and waited for the school bus to come. Took the bus to Punggol site and had some more assembly where we heard the lame Guppy story LOLS. And learnt to "expect the unexpected" zzz.

Met up with Cecilia (our watch instructor :D) and we did some admin stuffs and some icebreakers. The "Who, What, Huh" game was damn amusing! Then Symphony the boat with 61 seaters came and we went off to Pulau Ubin.

Reached there, settled more Admin stuffs, became the Store IC with Chongtat, blah blah, then we went to do the Belaying Course. Consists of the Climber, Belayer, Anchor and Assistant Belayer. Took turns to do all, quite slack LOL! After that we still had some time, so Cecilia brought us to do the Trust Fall thingy. It's like we all hold one end of this mat and then each person has to go up to this platform, face behind, and fall backwards on the mat. Damn fun hahaha. ARMSTRONG ROCKS LOL.

Then we learnt to pitch tents and did some field cooking.. Rice with some sardine was plain but still nice 'cause everything is nice when you're hungry right LOL. I can't remember but I think we went to bathe after that and then we had our reflections. In the midst of doing our "tree", there was this fire drill thingy. We all rushed and gathered at the Parade Square place within 4 minutes 49 seconds, which was neither slow nor fast. Had some briefing, went back to continue with our tree, then went to sleep :)

Day 2
This morning we had some trouble trying to unpitch our tents and pack up everything on time LOL. Tio "scolded" by Cecilia and then we packed for our expedition for 3 days 2 nights. The friggin' haversack was damn bloody heavy LOLOL. Walked for half an hour from Camp 2 (our base camp) to Camp 1. When we reached there we put down our bags and I bet everyone started floating around LOL.

Did some reflections, Gina arrived from her Volleyball competition, then we were supposed to have some high rope activities at the Tripod. But during the dry runs, it started raining and the activity was supposedly cancelled. Went into the indoor high rope activities place and had our lunch with our happy food. In the end the rain stopped and it was apparently OK to continue with the Tripod activities so we did.

Xinjie wanted to show off and he did the activites first but when he reached the Tired Two Lines he fell down after a few steps HAHAHA. Super cui lah, LOL. Then I went next and completed the entire thing. PWNED! HAHA he was feeling super malu lololol! We helped around with Belaying and all that with all the other climbers. Had alot of teamwork :D After awhile I got tired already so sat down and talked with Xinjie and Mingkang. Quite nice LOL then Xinjie fell down from the log he was sitting on and couldn't get up JOKE LOL.

After that we wore our "lifewest" (quoted from Xinjie) and went to find Murali (instructor of Amundsen). He taught Armstrong and Amundsen (which became A square) all the theory stuffs of rowing boats. Nope, A square didn't Kayak. We were supposed to row boats, which, to me, were more tiring because much more coordination was needed. Murali brought us into the water and had our full body dip which was quite shuang under the hot sun but damn salty. Then we pushed the 4 row boats into the sea, and we didn't even get to row them on that day zzzz. Went to bathe, then pitched our tents (within 17 minutes!!) in the middle of nowhere (amongst the trees, actually). According to Murali, it was DANGER all around our tents hahaha!

Murali: Danger, repeat after me, DANGER!
A square: DANGER!

Had our dinner at the cook house, which was damn shuang because it was super super super good food!! There were like proper tables and chairs and plates and cutlery and cups and trays and everything else LOL. Anyway I passed Xinjie all my extra rice LOL thanks Ken! Hahahaha. Had some reflections after that and some briefing on our boat rowing the next day. Had to row from Camp 2 to Camp 3 the longer way, which was almost around Pulau Ubin. Then they taught us about the tides and winds and stuffs, and after that we went to sleep.

Day 3
Put on our lifevests and our disgusting wet shoes and went to pack our stuffs. Loaded all our haversacks on the motherboat, did some warm up and stretching exercise, then we went to the cook house to have breakfast. Again, super good food LOL. Gave extra noodles to Columbus because they had to wait for their food hahaha.

Went to the boat area and had blessings. Super cool, whatever we wished for, we all had to repeat it as a team :D A square FTW! Then, finally we got into the boat and had to start paddling. Everyone was very confused as to which way to row and the oars were damn bloody heavy LOL. But after that we got used to it, and started chionging very quickly. The tides were with us, and that was really good. Don't know why but our boat (which consisted of me, Yuqi, Chongtat, Mingkang, Xinjie, Evan, Gina and Angela) started lagging again. We were either the first or the last out of the 4 boats LOL.

The instructors kept scolding us to paddle harder and all that so that we won't miss the tides. Gina was terribly trying to hold her bladder LOL. When we were out from the Danger Zone (which was super hard to paddle 'cause of the damn tides), Gina finally got to pee LOL! After a long while, and after Xinjie woke up from his beauty sleep as a Captain of the boat, we finally got the momentum and we chionged like mad LOL.

Ended up as first again and stayed at that position :D Then the instructors kept scolding us for not waiting for the other boats LOLOL. So we had to row, stop, row, stop, which I think was what happened to the other boats when we were lagging like mad previously. In between we kept swopping positions and anyway we reached the shore first! With Chongtat and Angela as the power paddlers, me and Mingkang with the oars, Xinjie and Gina as the second set of oars, Yuqi counting our movements, and Evan as our domestic helper :D YAY OUR BOAT ROCKS ^^ Loveee the coordination haha!

Reached Camp 3, a place without water (= no bathing), only grass and land everywhere. LOL. Tried to pitch our tents properly with the bloody wind blowing like mad, then had reflections with Cecilia telling us about the Ping Pong story which was something like the Guppy story. Her moral of the story (which actually made sense) was to cheer people up and help to pass time with meaningless stories. Cool. Cooked our dinner and had some mini camp fire. The boys were skipping pebbles on the sea. Everyone was throwing our orange skins and biodegradable rubbish into the sea, which was actually allowed LOL so shuang. After that had some mini reflection and we went to sleep. I love my Prickly Heat Powder :D

Got woken up at 11.39pm to do Sentry duties. We just walked around seeing nothing and at 11.45pm we woke Junweng's tent for their duty. Then we went back to the tent and slept.

Day 4

Woke up, had swollen lips due to the boat rowing the previous day. Chongtat was burnt like mad LOL. Did some morning greeting games with A Star (upgraded from A square because we rowed the boats in 6 hours, which was a damn good timing according to our instructors!) and did some planning of our land expedition routes. Did some pacing, then we started off trekking with our super heavy haversacks.

Had to walk all around Pulau Ubin for our 4 checkpoints. Finally we headed back and reached Camp 2 at around 5pm. The trekking was really really cool and fun. Tired, but still fun! We talked and sang and talked and talked and all that to distract ourselves haha. In between we passed by Camp 3 and were told to pick up all the rubbish left there LOL. Also, along the way, Mingkang and Xinjie tried the "pulling the invisible rope from two ends and see if cars would stop" thing. LOL. We tried it on the truck which KP us previously hahaha and the truck driver totally slowed down, fearing there was a rope blocking it LOLOL. SUPER JOKE (Y).

Anyway we reached Camp 2 and pitched our tents at the Flying Fox area (which we never got to do). Had our celebration dinner where I screwed up all the Luncheon meat (whereas MingKang's chopped up meat were all in perfect cubes T_T) LOL. Everyone else were chopping the onions garlics button mushroom or cooking instant noodles and rice and all that. Mingkang, Evan and me pretended to be busy by opening the cans and all that. Evan surprised me alot, he was like some magic guy. Damn cool hahaha.

Finally we could eat and it was damn nice. They cooked some soup (which totally seemed like the stone soup) and it smelled super nice but I didn't eat it 'cause I was too full. Cecilia made some Apple Crumble for us (which was freaking good) and I learnt how to do it from her. LOL.

Took damn long to clear up 'cause Xinjie was still cooking fried rice (surprisingly he knows how to cook good food) haha. Finally went to bathe at around 10pm. Did some short reflections, and were chased to sleep.

Day 5
Woke up at some godly hour to do Jetty Jump. Wore our lifevests and digusting wet shoes again and walked to the Jetty. Shouted out our values (mine was Cooperation) and jumped into the water. Dammmmmn bloody salty omg LOL. Came up back on to the Jetty and the wind started blowing = very cold hahaha. Finally we all ended and walked back to have our bath. Then packed our store stuffs (we didn't lose anything, miraculously LOL) and went to clear our Cleaning Area. Before that Xinjie tried to destroy a big orange and black spider from its humongous web but only got matchsticks stuck onto its web LOLOL.

Went to the Cook House (which was our cleaning area) and slacked 'cause that entire place was damn clean. Wrote our stuffs for Cecilia, talked, slacked then went back to our reflection area. Xinjie hurried back to remove the matchsticks from the web 'cause he was scared that Cecilia would scold him LOL. In the end he destroyed the entire web and the poor spider landed up on the floor. Later on the others came back and threw sticks at it. Damn poor thing LOL.

Went to another reflection area, completed our tree, ate some Tuna bread, received our certificates, our picture, and gathered with the rest of Camp 2. Waited for our boats to come. In the end 7 people from Amundsen and 3 people from Armstrong (me, Mingkang and Hao Kuan) took the Magpie the speedboat and went back to Punggol area. Bought our drinks (ice lemon tea!!) and OBS shirts (I bought two) and gathered and took bus back to school.

OBS, over! LOL. These 5 days were super fun and I love my watch alot alot ^^
ARMSTRONG AND CECILIA ROCKS YAY =D

We are a team :)

Damn excited, LOL. Spent don't know how long packing all the stuffs. I feel like I'm migrating to somewhere, with all the things. And I guess it'll be very fun hahaha ^^

But I feel like I'm going to die from the heavy load even before the camp starts. Zzz.

See you next week! Gotta complete Physics now. Damn.

golden sea urchins are pretty

My first movie of 2010: Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant.

Yesterday was kind of cool, since I managed to get out of my depressed-zone the day before. Met up with Yuhong and Siqi at Queenstown Library to attempt to do homework, seeing them was kind of consoling- well, at least some things never change. ^^

Anyway after awhile I kind of got hungry (although I was the only one who ate breakfast.. there's something wrong with me, seriously) so we went to the Cafe Galilee in the Library to eat some overpriced crap. Then we went to Vivo (whatever happened to doing homework?!) and stoned at Sky Garden and stoned at some Level 3 railings playing with the deco lights, not fearing that we'll electrocute ourselves.

Basically, we kept stoning.

After a loooooong while we decided to go Burger King to do some work but somehow we ended up wanting to buy A Long Thing each and ended up with a Threesome that got cut up into many small pieces of Long Things and then we found ourselves in the DVD shop. We spent more time than we expected there.

Met up with Yuching later on and we caught the movie. It was kind of freaky, in a way. Not in-your-face kind but more of through the tip of your toes all the way through your spinal cord and then into your grey matter in your brain. Sucks. But the movie was still cool, though. Kind of.

Then we stoned somemore at Carl's Junior (well me, actually) while Yuching smuggled her vegetarian food and Yuhong and Siqi shared a burger. Then we went home at around 10pm :)

Today sucked 'cause I kept looking for things and there was so much homework left and basically no time to do because it's well.. it's a Sunday.

Oh yeah and I bought the Percy Jackson book yesterday!! Can't wait for the movie omg LOL.

LOGAN WADE LERMAN.

My blog instantly becomes cooler because of his face here XD

Oh well back to reality: I spent the entire weekend looking for my foolscap pad and my scientific calculator. I still haven't managed to find both. The stress must be creeping up to me. Oh dear.

Now back to homework. Argh.

it's harder than i ever feared

Life is supposed to feel good when there aren't lessons in school for the day. Emphasize on 'supposed'.

People change. They do it all the time. And sometimes, maybe I can't handle it. I was hoping to remain friends with you through the vicissitudes of the years. You were the coolest girl. You knew all the right words to say. You helped me through rough times, understood when I was being a bitch. You apprehended perfectly the reasons for all my doings.

Then, suddenly, you were gone. You didn't realize it, but you took those carpet rides and never came back. I felt sore, and was glad when you asked. Yet you still didn't get it. You don't ever get it anymore.

You felt the need to spread your wings and start flying. There was even someone to guide you. Anyway if you did, I would have understood. I would have.

I'm pushing my luck, what I'm doing. I know. Someday you'll get sick of this and not bother anymore. I'm waiting to see if that day will ever come. I hope it doesn't, truly.

Because currently I'm already dying a little on the inside. I wasn't as strong as I thought I was. Ugh, I gotta get over myself. This sucks.

On a lighter note, the later part of today was quite OK. Hanging out with Szenee and Jiarui, talking some with Elvin and Alvin, they were all damn cool. Now I know.

Lunch/dinner with Weiren made it better. It was easier with him, I didn't have to pretend. I don't think he was, either. I'm kind of tired of all that. I almost let slip what I thought, because it felt so sincere and honest. It's sensitive issue, and I don't think anybody should know. I can't tell, because they might not agree with me. It's hard to find somebody who'll understand.

I was really really glad I signed up for the IMCB thing, I surprise myself. It's been long since I've done something like that. It felt gratifying, just like that.

Homo, fuge.

the usual act of supposition

Sometimes a ticket from a fortune machine could put you down for the rest of your life.

Well unhappy stuffs aside- it's the start of a new year. A new decade. New school campus. New uniforms. New principal. Things change. And maybe I'm not ready, but I'll try.

Of course, besides a new blogskin, there'll always be a new resolution for the new year. So far it's coming along well but it'll always be the issue of sustainability that flusters me up. Last year was okay- especially good in the end-of-year holidays though. The NZ trip was, come to think about it, way better than the 2008 one. Not that the previous one wasn't good, I'm just saying last year's was better.

As always, it's not about where you go, it's about who you go with. But nevertheless NZ is the best place ever. It cheers everybody up :} so it was definitely pretty awesome.

And there was that Japan trip. Going with my family, it's different than going with friends, but as fun. I really appreciate my dad for forking out so much money for the entire family. A380 was really cool ^^ I love my family- that's self explanatory.

Singapore wasn't half bad either, the mini outings/gatherings at Yuching's house or with the usual group of people, spamming movies, hanging about.

But those days are distant now. School has started, and what do you expect, really? I'm glad I'm able to keep up and even have time to go back to reading my books. But it's hard to say, afterall it's only the second week of the year. Aww shucks.

Anyway, I think the video of Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd is rather disturbing. Shall touch on that (and the stuffs that I did during the end-of-year holidays last year) some other time (if I even have that time).

See you soon.

new decade

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

May the world not end in 2012 and may everyone be happy.
