Friday was OK.
Didn't have CCA, so went to WINGS with Irene.
She made the whole thing much more interesting than normal.
Haha.
Anyway yesterday was quite a long day.
Woke up at around 7am to go to school.
For dance practice ._.
Warmed up a little first, then Ding Lao Shi came.
Did more stretching, then did exercises.
Surprisingly, I kinda enjoyed the session before the 15 minutes break.
But after the break it was more boring.
Except for the 眼神 dance and the 云步 part. The rest of the time I yawned alot.
Dad fetched me back, bathed and stuffs, then went to Amanda's house.
To do Speech & Drama. We wasted hell lot of time laughing.
Was supposed to meet Weiling at 5pm at City Hall MRT to walk around and eat dinner before going to watch the dance concert at Victoria Theatre, but because spent alot of time at Amanda's house, I didn't meet Weiling for dinner at all.
):
But it was fun at Amanda's house.
Lol.
Met Weiling, Meiyu and Abigail at City Hall's Guardian.
Bought Impact.
Met the rest, walked to Victoria Theatre.
Some roads were blocked due to the F1 Racing thing, so we took a much longer time to walk there.
On the way me and Weiling were "5 words-ing".
Reached there, got tickets, went in.
The whole thing was great.
Say I'm bias, but I don't care, those performances that Fong Lao Shi choreographed or danced in was uber great.
{The whole section below would be on the dance items in the concert, so if you have absolutely no interest in dance or anything, then don't read it.}
The first dance, Imprisonment by Viv Phua was quite okay.
The moves were refreshing, but weird. They kept lifting their skirts up, on purpose.
-_-
"Inhibited and constrained..
The cry to unleash the steoretypical role of women"
Convey by Janice Oei was quite boring. Or rather, didn't catch my attention as much, probably cause it wasn't choreographed by anyone I know, and Fong Lao Shi did not dance in this dance.
"Fact or Opinion,
True of False.
It's within a decision.
Do not use your eyes to see,
but through your heart to convey"
Next was Propulsion by Goh Chee Seng.
It was a dance by 2 ladies, and 1 of them was Fong Lao Shi!
The starting was damn cool, 'cause I was wondering how come the stage became so blur, until I realised that was this netting thing covering the stage.
I realised only when they lifted that netting thing. LOL.
But like Weiling said, the description was damn slack lah. A one-liner -.-
"Propulsion prevails with only one force"
The next one was one of the nicer ones, but sadly, not the nicest.
Hardship Quenched By Ties by Liz Fong.
Fong Lao Shi! Yay.
LOL.
4 guys danced in this dance, and 2 of them is from RV Year 4.
So alot of people from RV cheered for them.
Haha.
It was nice, alot of connecting moves between the dancers.
"In the days of a hand-cart puller....
the ties of brotherhood,
the true testament of mental power and physical strength"
Metamorphosis by Benedict Soh was almost the same as the one that my dance seniors were going to dance for their SYF.
Yes, Benedict Soh. And I think it's 'cause is he choreographed de, that's why RV people can use for SYF.
The performers danced it better than my seniors, of course.
At least now my seniors have a standard that they cannot reach easily.
"The work seeks to portray how the ever-changing society has an impact on out lives, and it is up to us to manage this change, or become prey to its malice"
And then intermission.
Next was Of Waft and Vim by Liz Fong.
It was really creative, the way the fans they used made loud sounds whenever opened or closed, so it was kind of part of the music.
There was this part where 1 lady dropped her fan, so she danced a few seconds without the fan, and then walked to the backstage, and came out with another fan after a few seconds.
But the whole thing looked like it was planned.
I mean, did the performers have telepathy or something?
"Slashes of air
Dashes of vitality
A harmony to the sheen of brocade"
Voice Over by Benedict Soh was the BEST DANCE ITEM I'VE EVER SEEN.
The main dancer was Fong Lao Shi.
It talks about heartbreak and everything.
Music was used only when there's this lady speaking in the background.
In between, Fong Lao Shi stripped to her black underwear to change clothing twice or thrice. Yeah, on stage. As in, it's part of the dance.
Anyway it wasn't the stripping that made it so nice. The stripping only made it special, 'cause this is the first dance item I've ever seen which involved changing clothes on the stage.
It was the way the lady spoke, the moves, the emotions that made it so nice.
"These fragmentary clips of self-dialogue reflect the inner emotion and memories of absence with regards to the past relationship"
Grace Leong choreographed The Fall.
I didn't even realise it was Long Lao Shi until the last part where they introduced all the choreographers and alot of RV people were cheering for her and I was wondering why was that so.
It was.. weird. People wearing nude-coloured clothing.
"Pride and temptation awaits its opportunity to sneak into the original creation. She looked, she took, she ate, and she gave. The battle is often lost at the first look. Who can resist the power of seduction?"
A very cute item by Verity Jacobsen: Second Samba.
Really very cheerful item, the performers looked like they were having fun, so yeah.
Fong Lao Shi danced in this one too.
"The rhythm never seems to surrender. Laughter, love, smiles and dance is a way of living. Whisking partners around from left to right, enjoying loving embraces and feeling the fresh sensation that is being thrown around by each individual. The celebration will only stop when the new light hits."
The last item was The Quiet Self by Yap Seok Hui.
I'm supposed to like this 'cause everyone was dressed in black. But no, I didn't like it so much, 'cause it didn't touch my heart the way Voice Over did.
"The individual self is the channel through which the soul finds expression. When our lives allow little room for personalized variation, the self goes into hiding. If tangled in the ropes of false identity and confusion, the soul cannot shine through."
OK then it was the end and my dad fetched me home and I bathed and I slept.
Sorry, video and photography wasn't allowed.
):
This afternoon went for drums and piano.
Bought Wuthering Heights.
Wondering if it's nice.
What You Got - Colby O'Donis
(feat. Akon)
Konvicted (Konvicted)
Oooh
I peeped you on the phone
Just showin' off your stone
And notice that, that pinky ring
Is right enough baby
I know you're not alone
But I could just be wrong
The way dem fellas houndin'
And sizing you up baby
And I like the way you take advantage
Of every man you love
I see, I seem to know your game girl
But I don't mind if you come and play yo thug just don't talk too much
I see, I see it so you don't have to say a word
Yeah those guys wanna come treat ya right
Cause you sweeter than apple pie
Everything that you want you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Most beautiful thing in sight
Always takin on tha spotlight
Always in tha club lookin hot
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Girl I can you want somethin' to love
That's why you hold on to everything
that pass you by
Can't resist girl, one can't lie
Now if you are here for me
Or everybody watchin' you shake
from left to right
The way you move got me hyptnotized
And I like the way you take advantage
Of every man you love
I see, I seem to know your game girl
But I don't mind if you come and play yo thug just don't talk too much
I see, (I see it) so you don't have to say a word
Yeah those guys wanna come treat ya right
Cause you sweeter than apple pie
Everything that you want you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Most beautiful thing in sight
Always takin on tha spotlight
Always in tha club lookin hot
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Our eyes away from you girl
When you get on tha flo'
And do what you do
And everybody want to come back
To that bod and kind of remind myself I'm like you
Be sure that type drive a man crazy and snatch him away from his lady
No matter how hard the man hold back
He'll end up callin' you baby
And they never really know what to do
Once you expose that thing you do
Ya had him crawlin' on his hands and knees
And ya find a way to get him out of that cheese
And why you thinkin' you're the only dude
She off in the mall livin' off of you
Lettin' errbody know she got you
But now you feel like a fool
Yeah those guys wanna come treat ya right
Cause you sweeter than apple pie
Everything that you want you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Most beautiful thing in sight
Always takin on tha spotlight
Always in tha club lookin hot
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Always talkin bout what you got
Girl you know that you need to stop
